The 23rd annual Children’s Arts Festival presented by Plymouth State University’s Educational Theatre Collaborative (ETC) brings children and artists together for a day of art, music and drama from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 13 at the Silver Center for the Arts on the PSU campus.

The Festival is one of four aspects of ETC’s 2018 initiative, which culminates with a full-scale production of Hairspray, January 24-28 in the Hanaway Theatre at the Silver Center.

The Festival, entitled “The Nicest Kids in Town” is a daylong arts experience that takes children grades K-6 into the joy of the 1960s using themes drawn from the Broadway musical Hairspray.

Children attend five fun-filled workshops, which include art with Denise Plante Renaud, acting with Fran Page, dance with Emily Viprino, music with Jennifer Keaton, and language arts with Cindy Moon. The day also includes a special behind the scenes look at the set for Hairspray, and a special finale performance by Jugglin’ Jim Gleich. Full details of the workshops can be found online at https://campus.plymouth.edu/etc/childrens-art-festival/.

Registration is available online at https://www.events.unh.edu/RegistrationForm.pm?event_id=25316 . The registration fee of $40 includes a snack.
